Wyoming’s Most Extreme Beauty Queen
Riverton resident Amy David first captured national attention as a high school freshman when she placed third in the Discovery Channel Young Scientist Challenge. The self-proclaimed "science nerd" turned beauty queen and extreme sports enthusiast has been in the spotlight ever since.
In 2009, she won the Miss Teen Wyoming pageant. The following year, she represented the Cowboy State at the annual Spirit of Community Awards in Washington, D.C., which was hosted by former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.
These days, David works in marketing for Monster Energy, but her first love will always be skiing.
The former Wyoming High School Girls All-State Championship is now training to compete in the Freeride World Tour and Subaru Freeride Series.
Her mix of beauty, brains and athletic ability led to a recent feature in Snow Bunny Magazine. She was also the subject of a GrindTV profile, documenting her recovery from a recent injury.
In addition to making her mark in freestyle skiing competition, David is working on a new film intended to promote skiing and snowboarding for women. She hopes to inspire young girls to become more actively involved in the outdoors.
