I’ve been going to concerts at Fiddler’s Green since I was a teenager. It was a terrible venue then and it’s even worse now.

Admittedly, we’re spoiled to have Red Rocks nearby. But even if we weren’t so close to the world’s greatest music venue, Fiddler’s would still suck.

Here are 10 reasons why Fiddler’s Green Amphitheater is the worst concert venue in Colorado.

1. Traffic – Having a 20,000 capacity concert venue in the most congested area of Denver makes I-25 an even bigger nightmare than it normally is. You’ll be lucky if you spend less than 30 minutes getting off the Orchard exit on I-25, especially for a weeknight show.

2. Parking – If you think the traffic is bad, try to find a decent parking spot. On a good night, you may be able to find a $15 space two miles away in a shopping center.

3.  Sound – Want to hear what the inside of a bass drum sounds like? Fiddler’s is the spot for you. Sadly, the local noise ordinances and lousy acoustics will make the muffled guitars and vocals difficult to hear.

4. The Lawn - If you absolutely must attend a concert at Fiddler's, fork over the extra money and get a reserved seat. If you're stuck on the lawn, you'll have no problem hearing conversations held by the people around you. The band, on the other hand, you won't be able to hear at all. Bring some binoculars too, because you won't be able to see the stage without them.

5. Bathrooms - For men, it's no big deal. But for the gals, the line for ladies room can be agonizing. Years ago, I attended the Lillith Fair Festival at Fidder's. After waiting in line for nearly an hour, a group of angry women stormed into the men's room like an invading army and claimed it as their own (true story).

6.  Curfew – Over the years, many bands have been forced to cut their sets short due to the 10:30 p.m. curfew. Maybe this rule makes sense on weeknights, but who cuts off a rock show at 10:30 on a Saturday night? Fiddler’s Green does.

7.  Neighborhood – Looking to pre-game before the concert? Or maybe do some bar hopping after the show lets out at 10:30? You might as well just go home. Luckily, you’re only a $20 Uber ride away from downtown Denver or Capital Hill.

8. Concessions - $10 beers are the norm at any venue these days, so I won't complain about that. However, Fiddler's should have more options in the actual concert area. It's a long walk out to the concourse, the lines are long and they cut off beer sales way too early.

9. Security - The security guards at Fiddler's are the worst. It's almost like they're trained to act like jerks. Then, there's the Greenwood Village Police. They are always out in force and they generate a ton of revenue for their city by busting anyone, and everyone, they possibly can.

10. The Sterile, Suburban, Corporate Environment -  The biggest, reason why Fiddler's Green sucks is the feeling you get when you see a show there. It's the feeling that you've been sold out by bands who should have played Red Rocks, but went to Fiddler's for the money. It's got no soul.
