Garth Brooks must be talking about this beach in “Beaches of Cheyenne” since it is the only one we have!  Nowhere else in Cheyenne are you able to find white sand and sand castles.

Sloan’s Lake is not open every summer for swimming, but this year — it is!  Here, you can swim, lay on the ‘beach,’ and rent paddleboats, canoes, or kayaks. Since swimming and playing often make you hungry, there are also concessions at Sloan’s Lake.  You don’t have to worry about packing up snacks and water before you head out the door.  One last great thing — you can bring your dog here!

3. THe Little America Hotel

If you are staying in Cheyenne, consider staying at the Little America Hotel.  As a hotel guest, you can enjoy the outdoor, Olympic- Sized Pool.  The heated pool is surrounded by beautifully landscaped grounds and is the perfect place for a refreshing dip.  The pool is currently open and will close around Labor Day.

The swimming pool offers a deck for lounging, and plenty of room for swimming, of course.  You can swim laps for some good exercise, or take the kids out there to swim and play and get some much needed energy out of them.  A pool attendant will be available for towels.
