Black Dog Animal Rescue Hosting First Monthly Distribution Day
Black Dog Animal Rescue is hosting the first monthly distribution day for its newly re-structured pet food and supply pantry program, The Empty Dish.
As part of its ongoing effort to help the people and pets of Wyoming, Black Dog Animal Rescue (BDAR) has maintained a free pet food supply program for the last several years. Thanks to its new facility, and the help of some very dedicated volunteers, The Empty Dish Pet Pantry program has been recently restructured so as to help more people across Laramie County who need assistance feeding their dogs and cats.
Once per month, the BDAR adoption center will open on Sundays for distribution days. Persons in need of assistance feeding their pets for the month may drop-in during distribution hours and receive approximately half the monthly amount of food needed to feed the dogs and cats for whom they are caring.
The Empty Dish program is designed to serve the needy and low-income households of Laramie County. Persons wishing to qualify for assistance must complete an application and demonstrate proof of need. Program qualifications are listed online at www.bdar.org under the programs and services tab. alternatively, people may visit the BDAR adoption center during business hours and apply in person.
The Empty Dish program will be handing out dog and cat food to qualifying persons on Sunday, April 19th, from 10am until noon. Distribution will last as long as the supply of food does, and is performed on a first-come, first served basis. Households may apply for assistance at the same time as the distribution. Please do not bring pets to the office during food pick-up times.
