The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) will offer six halter-started yearlings for adoption by silent bid at Cheyenne Frontier Days.

All six yearlings have been halter-started at the Mantle Wild Horse Adoption and Training Facility. They will arrive in pairs of two and be available for three days each. The yearlings’ photos will be posted on the BLM website and on Facebook.

Friday, July 18 – Sunday, July 20

The first two yearlings will be available for viewing and bidding at 9 a.m. Friday, July 18, until the silent competitive bidding closes on Sunday, July 20, at 1 p.m.

Monday, July 21 – Wednesday, July 23

A new set of yearlings will show up Monday, July 21, at 9 a.m. and be displayed until Wednesday, July 23, when the second round of silent competitive bidding closes at 1 p.m.

Thursday, July 24 – Saturday, July 26

The final set of yearlings will arrive on Thursday, July 24, at 9 a.m. and be available for viewing and silent competitive bidding until Saturday, July 26 at 1 p.m.

The horses and burros may be viewed at CFD in the Old Frontier Town across from the General Land Office.

All successful adopters need to make their own shipping arrangements for horses they adopt. The BLM Wyoming Wild Horse and Burro Program information booth will be open daily from 9 a.m. – 7 p.m. daily. If any of the horses are not adopted during their three days at CFD, they will be available for adoption, by appointment, at the Mantle Wild Horse Adoption and Training Facility
