Cheyenne Animal Shelter’s gearing up for one of their biggest fundraisers of the year, and YOU can help and have fun with your furry little friend in Lions Park, at the 2014 Dog Jog September 6th.

You can choose to participate in the 5K run or 1 mile walk around the lake, if you don’t have a furry little friend to take along with you, that’s o.k., you can still come out and participate in all the fun.  The day-of registration for the run starts at 8 a.m., with the run starting at 8:30 a.m., while the walk registration starts at 8:30 a.m., with the walk starting at 9am, however you can start your fundraising efforts by registering NOW at CASWY.org.

Kicking off the walk portion of Dog Jog this year, will be the 2013 Dog Jog sponsor dog Cosmo, who’s face is gracing all of this year's posters, registration sheets, sweatshirts and tee-shirts. The fun all starts in front of the amphitheater in Lions Park.

After the jog and walk, you’re invited to celebrate with all sorts of great vendors on site, along with a hot dog stand and bake sale, and there’ll be a designated children’s obstacle course called the “Tuff Mutter,” that the kids will love, even Fido will love it.

There are ways to help raise funds for Cheyenne Animal Shelter for this big event, as they encourage participants to go around their neighborhood, community, office and family, and reach out to them to get pledges for the shelter.

Funds raised at this year’s event will go to help with the day to day operations of the shelter, including food, medicine and care for the animals of not only Laramie County, but surrounding areas as well.  As Cheyenne Animal Shelter has stated many times before,  “Each donation makes a difference.”
