The Wyoming Secretary of State’s Office will conduct regional workshops aimed at assisting state candidates, candidate committees, political action committees, organizations, and political parties with e-filing their campaign finance disclosure reports.

The workshops will be offered at seven locations around the state from June 6 to June 20. State Election’s Director Peggy Nighswonger says  the goal in offering regional hands-on training is to ensure that everyone understands the legal requirements of campaign finance reporting and how easily and efficiently people can file online.

Electronic filing of campaign finance reports has been required since January 2010.  State candidates, candidate and political action committees, organizations, and political parties e-file their reports on the Secretary of State’s web-based Wyoming Campaign Finance Information System (WYCFIS). Prior to 2010, reports were filed on paper and persons wishing to see them had to pay for copies or examine the reports in the Secretary of State’s Office in Cheyenne.

Locations and dates for the training workshops are: Laramie County Community College (Cheyenne), June 6; Northern Wyoming Community College District (Gillette), June 11; Northwest College (Powell), June 12; Central Wyoming College (Riverton), June 13; Casper College (Casper), June 14; Western Wyoming College (Rock Springs), June 19; and Sublette BOCES (Pinedale), June 20.  Training workshops will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Space for the training workshops is limited.  Candidates, committees, and political party representatives wishing to attend are required to pre-register by June 4 by calling (307) 777-5860 or emailing campaignfinance@wyo.gov, with the subject line: Reservation.
