The Senate passed a bill that would effectively end cost of living adjustments for retired state employees. Senate File 59 now heads to the House. The House killed House Bill 85, the so-called “doomsday bill” on a 30-27 third reading vote. Tuesday was the deadline for bills to be considered on third reading in the house of origin.
