Have you seen the hard-working Kansas band Gooding when they've come through Cheyenne?

The four-piece band , originally from Wichita, now based in L.A., brings their Financial Literacy tour to Carey Jr. High School for two shows this week and they'll play Saturday night at The Midtown Tavern.

Gooding stopped by our studios in downtown Cheyenne to perform a few songs, see the video of 'Shining on' from last April above. They'll be visiting the ANB bank again on Wednesday afternoon in between their two shows at Carey Jr. High.

Governor Matt Mead is scheduled to sign a proclamation on Thursday, April 9, making it Financial Literacy week in Wyoming. The band has been traveling, with the support of several banks, from Canada to southern California and Colorado spreading the word to students about having a financial plan. They capture the student's attention with their performances and then warn them about the dangers of things like payday loans and reckless credit card debt.

Gooding's show at Carey Jr. High School Wednesday, April 8, at 11:15 a.m. is sponsored by US Bank and Thursday's, April 9, 10:15 a.m. performance is presented by 13 Cheyenne community banks.

You can catch Gooding playing a free show at The Midtown Tavern, also known as Anderson's Other Corner, at 1303 E. Pershing Blvd., at 8 p.m. on Saturday, April 11.
