Grateful Dead Exhibit Coming To Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
Have you visited the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland?
After hearing the latest news about their Grateful Dead exhibit, I’m considering a trip to the rock music shrine.
‘Grateful Dead: The Long, Strange Trip’ opens to the public on April 12 at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and is scheduled to run through December.
Highlights of the exhibit include:
-five Jerry Garcia guitars, including his Travis Bean TB5
-two Bob Weir guitars
–Mickey Hart’s custom painted drum kit
-promoter Bill Graham‘s ‘Father Time’ robe
-several lyric manuscripts, including ‘Truckin’,”Box of Rain,’ and ‘Sugaree.’
The Grateful Dead exhibit opening is part of the 2012 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Week events. Drummer Mickey Hart will be on hand April 11 as part of an exhibit opening event to perform Dead material and songs from his upcoming album.
