Tammy Lukkes sent us the story of her boyfriend’s daughter, Airman Jessica Horst, who was recently recognized as the USS GEORGE H.W. BUSH Avenger of the Day on March 19, 2014. The USS George H.W. Bush (CVN 77) released the following information about the accolade:
In recognition of outstanding performance on 19 March, 2014, Airman Horst is hereby recognized as USS GEORGE H.W. BUSH (CVN 77) Avenger of the Day.
While assigned to Air Department V-4 Division, Airman Horst’s efforts and leadership potential have contributed greatly to the cleanliness and material readiness of 17 Refueling Stations and all assigned spaces.
She directly contributed to the issue of over 655,000 of Jet Propulsion Five to 689 aircraft with zero mishaps.
Additionally, she assisted in the training and qualification of 16 Flight Deck Observers, three Aviation Fuel Security Rovers, and two Refueling Crewleaders.
Her hard work and dedication to duty greatly enhanced V-4’s preparation for the 2014 Deployment.
Airman Horst’s motivation and continued drive for success have set the standard high for others to emulate and is a true example of “Freedom at Work!”
