Are you going to see the southern rock band playing on South Greeley Highway Friday?

Blackberry Smoke plays The Outlaw Saloon, 312 South Greeley Highway, starting at 9 p.m. on Friday, January 18.

That's just one of the many live acts you can catch in our area this week.Blackberry Smoke released their third album, 'The Whippoorwill,' last year on the Zac Brown Band's own label, Southern Ground, and opened for that band at Cheyenne Frontier Days. The Outlaw Saloon show is $15 and the Atlanta band will travel to Denver for a show at the Summit Music Hall on Saturday, January 19.

On Thursday, January 17, the Marc Cohn Trio will play with Rebecca Pidgeon at the Boulder Theater and the singer and pianist will perform songs from his latest album, 'Listening Booth: 1970,' at the Lincoln Center in Fort Collins on Friday, January 18.

There's lots of live music in Cheyenne on Friday, January 18. Second Opinion hit The Drunken Skunk, 1617 Capitol Avenue, at 9 p.m. and there's no cover charge. Remember their wild appearance in the KING FM studios?

Also in downtown Cheyenne, Will Rogers performs 7 to 10 on Friday night at Sanford's Pub and Grub, 115 East 17th Street.

The local band, 6 Grand, will be at the American Legion Post 6, 2001 East Lincolnway, from 7 until 10 on Friday night and members and guests are welcome, call 635-3696 for more information.

At the Midtown Tavern, formerly known as Anderson's Other Corner at 1303 East Pershing Boulevard, Peggy Maynard plays for free starting at 8 p.m. on Friday, January 18.

For Pink Floyd fans and Deadheads, Mighty High and Dead Floyd take the stage at the Aggie Theater in Fort Collins on Friday, January 18.

The tex-mex band, Calexico, is in Boulder on Friday at the Fox Theatre beginning at 9 p.m. and Railroad Earth will be at the Ogden Theatre in Denver at 8 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

In Laramie, The Symbols play the Gryphon Theatre, 710 East Garfield Street, at 7 on Saturday night, January 19.

Legendary guitarist, Leo Kottke brings his tour with Loudon Wainwright III to the Ellie Caulkins Opera House in Denver on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
