Local Volley Ball Player Named All-American

I'ts not often that any athelete from Wyoming is accorded national recognition. That's why the recent naming of laramie County Community College  volleyball player Maria "Masha" Voitenko to the NJCAA division one All American team is so noteworthy.

In fact another LCCC volleyball player, Tatyana Lukyanenko, was honored last year--the first time that's ever happened. But Voitenko accomplishment was even larger, as she was named to the first team, while Lukyanenko was named to the second team.

Voitenko's numbers were indeed impressive this past season with 544 kills and a 39 percent hitting efficiency.
