Cheyenne city employees shouldn’t expect to see any salary increases when the new city budget takes effect July1, according to Mayor Rick Kaysen. The mayor says Governor Matt Mead and the state legislature have made it clear they don’t want state money for municipalities to go for raises or the hiring of new employees. The city will also get about 1 million dollars less per year in such funds from the state over the next biennium. Kaysen is currently working on his budget proposals for fiscal year 2013, which must be approved by the full city council before taking effect July 1.
