How would you like to hear some great music and help out a good cause at the same time?

Safehouse presents the 7th Annual Robin Munis Memorial Benefit Concert on the Depot Plaza on Friday, September 5, featuring the local bands Avenue and Moe Diggin'.

Moe Diggin' jam outside the downtown depot as the final Fridays on the Plaza band until about 8 p.m., then Avenue will take the stage and play until 10 p.m.

This will be the seventh year that Avenue have played as part of the benefit, band leader Chris Hoover says he had known Munis as a friend and performer for many years prior to her death in 2007.

Robin Munis was singing with Ty and the Twisters at Old Chicago in Cheyenne when her estranged husband shot and killed her through the window. He then killed himself.

Executive Director of Safehouse, Carla Thurin, says Munis' tragic death reminds us all that domestic violence affects more than just the abused.

Tonight's memorial benefit concert is free, but donations will be accepted with all the proceeds going to Safehouse.
