Have you always wanted to make a movie?

Here's your chance, The Shoot Out Cheyenne 24 Hour Film Making Festival is this weekend, October 5 through 7, in downtown Cheyenne.

All it takes is a camera or even a smart phone and some creativity and you could make a short film within 24 hours to enter into the competition.

Each film must be less than 7 minutes and must be edited 'in camera.'

The Shoot Out Cheyenne begins at 4 p.m. on Friday, October 5, at the Plains Hotel.

The public gets a chance to see some of the films at the end of the weekend. On Sunday, October 7, the Top Ten Screening will be held at the Atlas Theatre. Doors open at 1 p.m. and the local celtic and bluegrass band, Peat Bog Mysteries, will perform before the program begins. Tickets are $5 and that includes a beverage. They are available at the door or ahead of time at Phoenix Books and Records at 1612 Capitol Avenue.

This year, Union Wireless is sponsoring a Smartphone Philm Contest where you could win an LG Optimus 3D (P920).

The Shoot Out Cheyenne is a production of Wyoming Community Media.
