There is a major water shortage in the West, yet people continue to use sprinklers in the rain in Cheyenne.

California and other western states are suffering through one of the toughest droughts in decades. Reservoirs have so little water, you can almost see the bottom of the water. Yet, I see automatic sprinklers being used when it's raining here in Cheyenne? I get we don't have a major drought here in Wyoming, but we could, all we need is a dry season with no rain or moisture and we'll be in the same predicament as California and the rest of the west.

So, what do you think about watering in the rain? Wyoming is the 5th driest state in the Union, and drought is a constant threat in our region. Since 1999, much of Wyoming has been gripped by moderate to severe drought.  Conditions have eased somewhat in mid-2008, but a near decade with warm temperatures and relatively little precipitation has left us very vulnerable. Maybe not the greatest idea to water in the rain.
