2016 Fall Thankful Thursday Schedule

The weekly "party for a purpose" returns in the fall of 2016. The event also features a brand new location this year, AMVETS Post 10, located at 3839 East Lincolnway in Cheyenne.

The party begins at 4:30 p.m., every Thursday night with a live auction starting at 6 p.m. 100 percent of proceeds raised during the auction and games go back to each respective charity. The event has raised over $850,000 for local charities thus far.

Thankful Thursday also gives all patrons an opportunity to win cash just for showing up, including a jackpot of $500!

September 8 - STRIDE Learning Center

Provide comprehensive quality services for children with special needs and their families in a safe and compassionate environment so that they may achieve their fullest potential.

September 15 - Capital City Canine Search & Rescue

Provide operational search dog teams as requested by sheriffs to find lost people, living or deceased, and help them come home to their families and friends. Also provide informational programs about the dogs and safety in the wilderness to the community.

September 22 - Wyoming Family Home Ownership Program

Prepares and supports low-income working families with the education and resources needed to become successful homeowners. WYFHOP families learn how to repair credit, budget, save consistently, and purchase a home on a family's own merit.

September 29 - Cheyenne Therapeutic Equestrian Center

Dedicated to providing quality therapeutic equestrian activities to all of their clients and their families.

October 6 - K9s 4 Mobility

Dedicated to enriching lives of others through the training, placement, and support of assistance dog partnerships.

October 13 - National Veterans Golden Age Games

Senior adaptive rehabilitation program and multi-event sport and recreational seniors competition program designed to improve the quality of life for all older veterans, including those with a wide range of abilities and disabilities. One of the most progressive and adaptive rehabilitative senior sports programs in the world.

October 20 - St. Joseph Food Pantry

Fulfilling a vital ministry of feeding the hungry in the Cheyenne community.

October 27 - Wreaths Across America

WAA's mission, remember, honor and teach is carried out in part by placing wreaths on veterans' graves and having simultaneous ceremonies during the holiday seasons to locations all over the country and beyond. Funds raised in Laramie County stay in Laramie County to support the program.

November 3 - Project Healing Waters

Dedicated to the physical and emotional rehabilitation of disabled active military service personnel and veterans of all conflicts and service branches through fly fishing, fly tying, and rod building education, activities, and outings. Platte Rivers chapter's motto of "The Water Holds No Scars" reflects their belief that they have the responsibility to work together to help everyone transition through the aftermath of military duty.

November 10 - Wyoming Service Dogs

Help people with mobility, psychological, hearing, or medical issues gain more independence and quality of life by partnering with a service/assistance dog that is looking for a home, a person to care for, and a job to do.
