The Cameron Peak Fire and the Mullen Fire are now just 25 miles apart, according to data from the fires' informational Facebook pages.

"We measured the distance it is over 25 miles as a crow flies," read a post on the Cameron Peak Fire page, along with a proximity map showing the lessening distance between the fires.

In another map showcasing the Mullen Fire, officials revealed that the Wyoming blaze has reached 136,840 acres as of 11 p.m. on Friday (October 2), with 6% containment.

During Friday's efforts, firefighters were able to save structures near the Pelton Creek area.

Going forward, crews will continue to defend the north sides of Colorado Highway 127 and Colorado Highway 125.
