Are you a star gazer? This weekend see the alignment of Venus, Mars and the crescent moon.

Also on Friday, February 20, at 7 p.m. the Cheyenne Astronomical Society presents this month's program about 'Telescopic Filters' at the Cheyenne Botanic Gardens.

Astronomy enthusiasts are welcome to join Rob Courtierr for this free program discussing filters for your telescope at the Botanic Gardens' Greenhouse in Lions Park. Weather permitting, a telescope viewing session will follow.

Also, beginning one hour after sunset on Friday, February 20, watch the rare alignment of the crescent moon with the planets Mars and Venus. This will be the closest conjunction of the two planets until October 2017. A pair of binoculars will enhance your view and if skies are clear, you might want to bring your camera.

If you consider yourself a star gazer, you might want to check into joining the Cheyenne Astronomical Society.
