Cheyenne Author Karen Cotton Signing New ‘Vedauwoo’ Book This Week
Do you have any favorite rock formations at Vedauwoo?
If you've climbed the rocks between Cheyenne and Laramie, you've probably noticed how many of them look like faces or animals and other things. Local author Karen Cotton wrote a children's book about Vedauwoo and will be signing it in Cheyenne this week.
'Vedauwoo: Hidden Faces in Mysterious Places' was published in August and Cheyenne author Karen Cotton will be signing copies at the City News and Pipe Shop, 1722 Carey Avenue, on Wednesday, October 8, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The book is intended for kids 8 to 12 years old and features photos of faces and animals camouflaged in the rocks at Vedauwoo. When we've visited, we always see critters running around like chipmunks and camp robbers. We've often contemplated what one of the rocks looks like too, kind of like staring at the clouds.
Karen Cotton will also be signing her new book at Barnes and Noble, 1851 Dell Range, on Saturday, October 11, from noon to 4 p.m. Also, local DARE officer Colby White will be reading 'Vedauwoo: Hidden Faces in Mysterious Places.' For more information, call 632-3000.
