Have you read the children's book, 'Free To Be...You and Me'?

Actress Marlo Thomas came up with the idea for the book in 1972 to teach values such as tolerance, individuality and being comfortable with your own identity. This weekend, the Cheyenne Little Theatre Players' Youth Summer Stock will present a stage version.

Thomas, the daughter of actor Danny Thomas, recruited many of her famous friends to help record stories and poetry on an album called 'Free To Be...You and Me.' Two years later an ABC Television special was released based on the book.

The Cheyenne Little Theatre Players' Youth Summer Stock will perform 'Free To Be...You and Me' Friday and Saturday nights and Sunday afternoon at the Mary Godfrey Playhouse at Windmill Road and Pershing Blvd. The shows on July 17 and 18 begin at 6 p.m. and the July 19 matinee starts at 2 p.m. Take a look at the talent in the large cast, maybe someone you know is in the show.

Tickets for the performances are only $5 and are available online, by calling 638-6543 or at the box office of the Mary Godfrey Playhouse.

'Free To Be...You and Me' was adapted for the stage by Douglas Love and Regina Safran. The Cheyenne Little Theatre Players' production is being directed by Amy Threewitt.
