Cheyenne’s Ninth Annual ‘Project Prom’ Begins Saturday, March 14

Do you have a dress to wear to prom this year?

If you want to go to prom but can't afford a dress, Cheyenne's 'Project Prom' is helping local students find one for the ninth straight year.

'Project Prom' provides formal dresses at no charge to local students who otherwise might not be able to purchase a dress. Beginning Saturday, March 14, dresses will be made available at a new downtown location, 213 West 18th Street.

Students must show a valid local high school I.D. and may only bring one guest. 'Project Prom' runs through May 2 and times are on Mondays from 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and on Saturday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Appointments may also be made by calling Jean Richardson at 307-630-9250.

Donations of gently used, clean gowns are also being accepted, the may be dropped off at Just Dandy, 212 W. 17th St. or at the new 'Project Prom' location at 213 W. 18th St. Financial donations are also accepted.

'Project Prom' has provided nearly 2,000 formal dresses for local students over the last nine years. The non-profit organization is looking for new volunteers if you would like to help out.
