Coors to Release a New Colorado Whiskey This September
If you venture down the stairs in my home and open the door to the basement, the first thing you will see is my whiskey cabinet. A variety of Colorado-made, barrel proofs, and exclusive store picks make up the majority of my bottles at the whiskey bar.
Soon there will be another bottle to add to the collection. Molson Coors Beverage Company has announced the release of the first full-strength spirit. Five Trail whiskey is set to hit the shelves of Colorado starting September 1.
Five Trail is classified as an ultra-premium blended American whiskey bottled at 95 proof. Coors Whiskey Co. is made with Coors malt and Rocky Mountain water. Five Trail is produced with a partnership with Bardstown Bourbon Company located in Bardstown, KY.
According to the announcement from Molson Coors, Five Trail combines a blend of Colorado-made single-malt whiskey, three bourbons, and cut to 95 proof with Rocky Mountain water.
Bardstown Bourbon Company currently offers three bourbons. The Fusion Series is a blend of three-year, four-year, and eleven-year bourbons bottled at 94.9 proof with an MSRP of $59.99. The Discovery Series line is a blend of six-year, seven-year, thirteen-year, and seventeen-year bourbons bottled at cask strength with an MSRP of $129.99. The Distillery Collection Series is only available at the Bardstown Bourbon Company distillery at an MSRP of $199.99.
Five Trail whiskey will be available in Colorado for a suggested retail price of $59.99. Five Trail whiskey will be available in three additional states. Those states include Georgia, Nevada, and New York.
