New Paranormal Thriller Movie Will Be Set and Filmed in Flint
Quiet on the set....and action! Flint, Michigan is about to take center stage as the setting for a new film.
The new movie Half Dead Fred is set to start filming in Flint this October. The brainchild of writer and director Bron Theron is described as a thriller/horror flick.
The movie is set to star Corin Nemec as "Freddy Nash", a medium detective, struggling after the tragic death of his son and his newfound eerie ability to connect with the dead. Fans will remember Nemec from Stargate SG-1, Parker Lewis Can't Lose, and several made for television films.
Theron is no stranger to the Flint are having worked as a muralist for the Flint Public Art Project since 2017. His close connection with friend Executive Director of the Flint Public Art Project Joe Schipani introduced him to the incredible architecture throughout the city which served as inspiration for the film.
"I wanted to film at Schipani's house since it had that interesting architecture you only find in Flint. Being from Los Angeles, you don't see the type of architecture you see in Flint and it fits the type of movie", Theron told us in a a interview.
Theron told us he will be using several locations around the Flint area for filming. The movie will incorporate Flint’s history, something that Theron said was important to him while writing the script for the film.
