A wanted Cheyenne woman is behind bars following a late-night traffic stop in downtown Cheyenne.

According to a booking sheet, 46-year-old Rachel Virginia Hernandez was arrested at 317 E. Lincolnway at 12:01 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 28 after police stopped the vehicle she was riding in for failing to yield the right of way.

Police say Hernandez had a Laramie County Circuit Court warrant for felony theft signed by Judge Antoinette Williams on Dec. 6, 2023.

She also had a warrant out of Municipal Court for failing to appear on an original charge of misdemeanor shoplifting signed by Senior Judge Anthony Ross on Jan. 4, 2024.

Hernandez was booked into the Laramie County Detention Center on the warrants.

She's scheduled to make her initial appearance in Circuit Court on Tuesday, Jan. 30 at 9:45 a.m.
