Snowy Weekend For SE WYoming, Winter Storm Warning For Mountains

The Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for the Sierra Madre and Snowy Range Mountains of southeast Wyoming, with 12-20 inches of snow possible at higher elevations.

Other areas of southeast Wyoming can expect snow right on through the weekend and into next week, according to the agency. Temperatures next week will once again plunge down to or below zero in most areas.

The weather service posted the following on it's website:

7AM 2/14 - Winter Storm Warnings remain in effect for the mountains until 5PM Saturday. Elsewhere, there will be a chance for a few snow showers this afternoon/evening, and for more widespread light snow during the day Saturday. The graphic shows the probability of 1" of snow between now and 5AM Sunday.

A slight chance of rain and snow before 2pm, then a slight chance of rain between 2pm and 3pm, then a slight chance of rain and snow after 3pm. Partly sunny, with a temperature falling to around 39 by 5pm. Breezy, with a west wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

A 20 percent chance of snow before 11pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 15. Northwest wind 5 to 15 mph.
Saturday
Snow, mainly after 11am. High near 25. North wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of around an inch possible.

A 40 percent chance of snow before 11pm. Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly clear, with a low around 8. Wind chill values between zero and 5. North wind 5 to 15 mph becoming west after midnight.

A 30 percent chance of snow after 11am. Partly sunny, with a high near 30. West wind 10 to 15 mph becoming south in the afternoon.
