Is the Cinderella latte the next big thing in pumpkin spice?

Pumpkin spice season continues with a new twist on the classic pumpkin spice latte. Sure, there are plenty of ways you can customize your PSL, but this one appears to be making some waves on social media. Caffeine waves, that is.

It's called the Cinderella Latte.

Are those woodland creatures I hear singing a merry tune? What could be better than our favorite pumpkin spice product getting a Disney Princess makeover?! Delish says it's a secret menu item, but my barista had not heard of it before. So I coached her through the order, half pumpkin spice and half white mocha, and then I totally offended her by asking if she could make it.

Duh, Jess... that's her job.

That being said, this sucker is for the sugar lovers. The white mocha mellows out the spice level and give the drink a much creamier "mouth feel" however, I found it to be too sweet for my liking and a tad bit muddled. I then realized there are about two pumps of each flavor. I'm not sure what the normal amount of pumps is for a regular pumpkin spice, but this felt a bit over the top.

Let's break down this ugly stepsister of the #PumpkinSpiceLatte...

Actual pumpkin content: According to Starbucks' website, the PSL does contain pumpkin in puree form which is added to the pumpkin spice sauce. This is added to the brewed espresso and milk to create your latte. Judging that this drink maintains that PSL syrup, it's safe to say that there is actual pumpkin in it.

Likeability: Not my cup of tea. It's not pumpkin spice and it's not white mocha. It feels like a confused Gus Gus trying to get Cinderella ready for the ball. It's not quite sure what it's doing, but it's giving its best effort.

Years in existence: I found an Instagram post dating back to September 2018 so this baby is at least one year old..

Likelihood of its return: As long as this remains on the secret menu, it will be around again next year. People love feeling like they know something other people don't.

Recommendation: True PSL fans probably won't like this one. However, if you want to like the original, but can't seem to stomach its Fall kick then this is a great option for you. Especially if you love white mocha.
