You didn't win last night's $1.6 billion Mega Millions drawing but there is a way to increase your odds of winning the big Powerball jackpot. For over 50 years, a lucky dinosaur has been improving the fortunes of superstitious students at the University of Wyoming.

A towering Tyrannosaurus Rex stands outside the Unversity's Geological Museum. It is said that anyone who can successfully throw a pinecone from a nearby tree into the dinosaur's mouth will have good luck. Generations of UW students credit the Jurrasic giant for improving their grades and helping them graduate.

The copper T-Rex was built in the early 1960s by renowned Wyoming geologist Samuel H. "Doc" Knight. The building was named in Knight's honor following his death in 1975 and also features a complete Brontosaurus skeleton and a rare Allosaurus affectionately named "Big Al".

You'll need more than luck to gain favor from the sculpture, you'll also need a strong arm. Standing 18-feet tall, the chances of landing a pinecone into the dinosaur's mouth are slightly better than striking it rich in the lottery.
