Cheyenne Mayor Marian Orr has announced a new award program to recognize people who improve the appearance of properties in the city.

The program was developed in conjunction with the Forward Greater Cheyenne Beautification Committee.

The award Includes five categories, with one award winner for each:

“Do it Yourself” - Work completed by non-professional family members, etc.
2.Professional – All, or a majority of the work, was completed by a licensed professional who was compensated for their work.
3.Small Business (25 employees or fewer) – Award recognizes businesses and public properties that promote beautification of Cheyenne through landscaping and architecture.
4.Large Business (25+ employees) - Award recognizes businesses and public properties that promote beautification of Cheyenne through landscaping and architecture.
5.Water Wise Landscaping – Award recognizes individual or group efforts that promote sustainability in beautification while conserving resources.

Eligibility requirements for each category are as follows:
•Beautification efforts must be visible from the public right-of-way.
•Buildings must be occupied and not for sale during the application process.
•Exterior remodel/landscape projects must be completed upon applying.
•Any incomplete applications will be disqualified.

To submit your application, click here. Completed nominations forms must be submitted by Friday, August 30. If applicants would like to submit a picture with their completed form, they may do so by emailing a picture to beautificationaward@cheyennecity.org

Applicants may self-nominate.

A winner for each category will be announced by Sunday, September 15. Winners will then be publicly recognized on Friday, September 20 at the Cheyenne Botanic Gardens (710 S. Lions Park Dr.).
