Nitro Circus: Gun Threats Forced Cheyenne Show Closure
An official with Nitro Circus says threats by a person armed with a gun forced the early closure of the stunt show at Big Country Speedway on Sunday night. However, authorities have yet to confirm that statement.
Greg Terlizzi, the company's Vice President and Global Head of Public Relations, says a fight broke out in the stands while the show was stopped due to an accident. Terlizzi says the fight escalated to the point where an armed person started making threats.
He says because of safety concerns the rest of the show was canceled. Terlizzi says no one was arrested in connection with the threats.
One person who attended the show told Townsquare Media of Cheyenne on Monday that the show had been canceled because of lighting issues.
Terlizzi says 50 percent refunds are available to people who attended the show by contacting Ticket Rocket at support@ticketrocket.co. Terlizzi says two riders were hurt during a three-person motorbike.
He says one of them broke his leg while the other sustained hand injuries. Both were taken to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center. The Laramie County Sheriff's office has been contacted in regard to whether they received a call to the event on Sunday night, but as of this writing they have not responded.
