It's been a good year for Pine Bluffs Distilling. Last month, they won a bronze medal for their Rock Ranch Vodka at the American Craft Spirits Awards. This week, two of their whiskeys,  Lodgepole Creek Bourbon and Muddy Creek Bourbon, won bronze medals from the American Distilling Institute.

“We’re honored our first two brown spirits were recognized by industry leaders and proud to have earned the bronze," co-owner Chad Brown said. “Our team looks forward to creating more products in the future that are gold medal worthy.”

Brown, his wife Kathy, and his cousin Gene Purdy opened Laramie County's first licensed distillery in 2017, using malt grown on their family farm. The operation is overseen by head distiller Jon Unruh and assistant Aaron Mayer, who accepted the award on Tuesday at the American Distilling Institute Conference in Denver.

The farm-to-bottle operation sources locally grown malts to make bourbon, corn whiskey, white whiskey, and vodka. Their products are now available at liquor stores in Arizona, Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, South Dakota and around Wyoming.
