PODCAST: From LA to Laramie, Pokes ink three PAC-12 transfers
LARAMIE -- Have you ever been to Los Angeles?
It's smoggy. The traffic sucks. It's overcrowded.
No wonder Max Agbonkpolo, Ethan Anderson and Jake Kyman decided to ink with the Cowboys Wednesday on college basketball's traditional signing day, right?
OK, none of those reasons are why these three decided to leave their home state -- and power programs like USC and UCLA -- they came for the opportunity to play and win, according to UW head coach Jeff Linder.
Wyoming beat writer for the Casper Star-Tribune, Ryan Thorburn, joined me in studio to discuss this recruiting coup that has plenty of national sports media figures talking Pokes hoops -- in April.
Will the Cowboys be ranked when the season begins next October? Thorburn sure thinks so.
Will these guys make an immediate impact on a team that was just in the NCAA Tournament in early March? That's a no-brainer.
Is Wyoming the team to beat in the Mountain West? Time will tell.
Thorburn and I also chat about spring football and the plethora of storylines coming out of the indoor practice facility in Laramie. All eyes are on the quarterback spot, but unlike last season, there are open positions littered throughout the two-deep.
