It looks like snow and colder temperatures are coming back to southeastern Wyoming for the weekend. The National Weather Service has issued a Special Weather Statement warning of accumulating snow beginning late Friday and continuing through the weekend.

According to the statement, the cold front moving through the area could stall in central Colorado. If that happens, northern and central Colorado would get hit the hardest with snowfall. Interstate 80 could get several inches of snow, causing hazardous travel conditions Friday night and Saturday.

The Snowy and Sierra Madre ranges could accumulate up to a foot of snow throughout the weekend.

Weather forecasts show that temperatures for the weekend could drop below zero, and the high temperatures may not get above freezing.

The Special Weather Statement is as follows:

ACCUMULATING SNOW AND COLDER TEMPERATURES RETURNING TO SOUTHEAST WYOMING AND NEBRASKA PANHANDLE LATE FRIDAY THROUGH THE WEEKEND...

ACCUMULATING SNOW WILL RETURN TO THE AREA LATE FRIDAY AS A COLD FRONT MOVES THROUGH SOUTHEAST WYOMING AND WESTERN NEBRASKA. THE LATEST MODEL DATA INDICATES THAT THE COLD FRONT WILL STALL OVER CENTRAL COLORADO SATURDAY. IN THIS CASE... THE HEAVIEST SNOWFALL WOULD FALL OVER NORTHERN AND CENTRAL COLORADO. AREAS ALONG AND SOUTH OF INTERSTATE 80 COULD RECEIVE SEVERAL INCHES OF SNOW... WITH UP TO A FOOT FOR THE SNOWY AND SIERRA MADRE RANGES. THE SNOW WILL IMPACT TRAVEL FRIDAY NIGHT AND SATURDAY.
