Those wanting to walk around downtown Cheyenne with a cold one in hand can now do so, as the city's open container law is back in effect.

Cheyenne DDA Assistant Director Haylee Chenchar says work on a pocket park in the property should get underway next spring, with the project hopefully completed by the fall of 2022.

There's a new landmark in downtown Cheyenne thanks to the Downtown Development Authority. A new 'CHEYENNE' sign is front and center between the Central and Warren Viaducts.

The release also says that the day-to-day operations of both organizations will remain unaffected. It says the merger will allow both to be more cost-efficient.

Adults 21 years and older will be allowed to walk around downtown Cheyenne with an alcoholic beverage in-hand beginning this summer, the city announced Thursday.

Citizens are encouraged to complete a survey, which will provide critical guidance to the design team as they move forward with final design for the corridor.

The new and improved bike sharing program is centered around app-based usage and provides an active alternative to downtown transportation.
