This is how much Amazon sold during the two-day shopping craze.

The dust is still settling from Amazon Prime Day. Did you shop? Did you buy more than you intended? My husband and I share a Prime account so I had to be conservative, which is probably a good thing. It's so easy to be swept up in the deals.

So just how much did Amazon sell in those 48 hours?

For starters experts estimate that more than $6 billion worth of goods were purchased on Monday, July 15 and Tuesday, July 16. That's not a small number. Now the next question is "how much money was saved?" According to these experts, shoppers in 18 different countries saved more than $1 billion. The number of items sold this year ballooned up to 175 million, which is up from last year's 100 million items.

We're starting to see why they extended Prime Day to 48 hours this year.

The most popular items that were purchased seem to include Amazon's signature products. The Fire Stick and many Alexa-enabled devices. Of course, if you bought an Alexa device, you should enable us in the skills so you can listen that way.
