This rare celestial show in the sky will begin tomorrow night when Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn will all be visible to the naked eye at the same time.

Here’s your chance to see five of our solar system neighbors at the same time.

If you’re up before dawn later this week, take a look at the southern sky. Starting tomorrow through Feb. 20, you’ll see five of our solar system’s planets all lined up.

This rare celestial show in the sky will begin tomorrow night when Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn will all be visible to the naked eye at the same time. This is the first time this has happened in more than a decade. This heavenly display will be visible for about one month. Jupiter will be the highest in the sky. Earthsky.org, says:

“Get ready! All five bright planets – Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn – will appear together in the morning sky from about January 20 to February 20, 2016. That hasn’t happened since 2005.”

All five planets will meet again in the night sky in August, but they won’t be lined up so you should see them now if you can. You’ll be able to see it with the naked eye, but you might like it better with a telescope or even some binoculars.

Depending on how loose you are with your definitions, this is not a true planetary alignment, but THIS GUY has an interesting video on that subject.
