When a Wyoming Cowgirl Switched Places with a Dallas Cheerleader
Have you ever heard of a TV show in the early 2000's called "Switched Up"? If not, you're in good company. Nearly 20 years ago, one of their episodes featured a Wyoming cowgirl who became a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader and vice versa.
This is the story of Stacy who at the time was 19 years old in Laramie, Wyoming. Amber Gosdin was a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader who swapped places with Stacy for a week or two and came to Wyoming to live the ranch life. Here's how the show was described on the YouTube share:
Switched Up ! was a A TV show from 2003-2004 were two individuals basically switch lives. In this episode, Stacy a real cowgirl from Wyoming takes on life in Dallas as a DCC and a DCC, Amber Gosdin, takes on the life as a cowgirl in Wyoming.
Stacy's family made sure that Amber really understood what being a cowgirl was like...getting up early, chores and all.
As for Stacy from Laramie, she was able to see how much hard work goes into being a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader. It's not all glamour and calendars, but a rigorous work schedule that is way more demanding than most people think.
It's worth sticking around and watching the full episode as there's a special moment at the end in the Dallas Cowboys stadium parking lot. I won't spoil it, but it's a happy ending.
According to IMDb, Switched Up only lasted from 2003 to 2004. That's unfortunate that it never caught on as the premise is fun and did feature a real Wyoming cowgirl getting to live a dream almost 20 years ago.
