Wyoming Governor Matt Mead's veto of the ''crimes against critical infrastructure has been upheld by the Wyoming Legislature.

The Senate voted to override the governor's veto of Senate File 74 Thursday afternoon by a margin of 20-5. But the House voted against overriding the veto with 33 of 53 representatives voting not to override the veto.

Six Representatives were absent and Rep. Chuck Gray [R-Natrona County] declared a conflict of interest on the measure.

Since a veto override would have required a 2/3 majority of both houses, and couldn't even get a simple majority in the house, the veto override attempt fell well short of success.

Governor Mead on Wednesday night vetoed the measure, saying it was poorly crafted and would include too much ordinary infrastructure.

In House floor debate on Thursday, those supporting the override argued that while the bill may not be perfect, it is important to pass the bill even if the issue needed to be revisited in future legislative sessions.

But Rep. Stan Blake [D-Sweetwater County] argued the bill ''is not ready for prime time."
