Road Report for Wednesday,February 8th, 2017

Heading into a warm (almost 50 degrees) and windy day on this Wednesday, February 8th. But know that there are already weather related problems.

We’ve got a high wind warning in effect until 5 p.m.. where you could run into wind gusts of up to 50 mph, and possible gusts of up to 80 MPH this morning!  The biggest impact will be on your commute, and you’re having to battle those winds along with blowing snow on several stretches including:

 

I-80

I-80 has slick spots with dangerous winds, extreme blow over risks,  blowing snow and no light or empty trailer travel from Laramie to Happy Jack Road, this stretch of i-80 is closed to light and high profile vehicles.  You have more of the same with blow over risks and no light or empty trailer travel, however your drive dries out between Buford and Cheyenne, this stretch also closed to light and high profile vehicles.

I-80 is dry from Cheyenne east to the Nebraska State Line.

 

I-25  is dry with strong winds between Cheyenne and the Colorado State Line,

I-25 is dry from Cheyenne to Chugwater, then slick from Wheatland all the way to Casper.  Further north, I-25 is CLOSED between Casper to north of Horse Ranch Creek Road!

 

Hwy 85 is dry between Cheyenne and the Colorado State Line,

Hwy 85 is dry between Cheyenne and Meriden, then slick as you make your way into Torrington

 

Hwy 287 is slick with snowfall, blowing snow, dangerous winds limited visibility extreme blow over risk and no light or empty trailer travel advisories in effect between Laramie and the Colorado State Line
