Jim Golay was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer in 2014. With only months to live, he called a florist in Casper and arranged for them to send flowers to his wife Shelley every Valentine's Day for the rest of her life.

When Shelley received a dozen roses along with a posthumous note from Jim in 2015, she thought the bouquet was sent by their children. When she called the florist, she learned about her late husband's romantic gesture.

"He’s such an amazing man and he just can love beyond boundaries,” Shelley Golay told Time Magazine. “There are no boundaries with him, even in death. He’s just amazing.”

This year marks the fifth Valentine's Day since Jim passed. Once again, the roses will remind Shelley that her husband will always be with her.

"It was true love, the fairy-tale romance, the knight in shining armor, and you just don't find that very often," Shelley said in 2015. "Even though we didn't get the fairy-tale ending, it was amazing."
