Fire District 2 Begins Training on Ladder Truck

Laramie County Fire District #2 personnel began training on their recently acquired ladder truck. The 1993  KME Aerial Cat was given to District 2 by F.E. Warren Air Force base at  no cost through the federal excess personal property program.

District 2 fire Chief Jason Coughey  says with new commercial and residential building construction in their district, the ladder truck is a welcome addition.  The ladder extends 102 feet.

Casper Woman Wins Woman of Distinction Award

The Wyoming Council for Women’s Issues recognized Casper resident Bev Dye with its annual Woman of Distinction Award Saturday at the Casper Petroleum Club.

As a former single parent with firsthand knowledge of the issues facing women today and an appreciation of her own education and her parents’  encouragement and work ethic, Dye has devoted 28 years to making a difference for others through Casper College’s ABE/GED Center. She is passionate about the program and sharing the renewed dreams of adults with previous mixed success in the educational system and makes every effort to put them on the right path.
