Most Hunting and Fishing Licenes Due to Expire

The Wyoming Game and Fish Department reminds hunters and anglers that 2012 conservation stamps and most 2012 hunting and fishing licenses expire on Dec. 31st.
The lone exception is that 2012 elk licenses will be valid in open areas in January due to the fact that a number of elk seasons extend into January. This year, the game and fish will continue to sell 2012 elk licenses through the online system, at all automated agent locations, and at all game and fish offices through Jan. 2013 for hunt areas with open seasons. A 2013 conservation stamp will be required for all licenses beginning Jan. 1, 2013, including those hunting on a 2012 elk license during the extended seasons.

New Literacy Center to Open at UW

Wyoming’s efforts to help children succeed in school and careers will receive a major boost with the opening of the University of Wyoming Literacy Research Center and Clinic next year. During a press conference today (Monday) at the State Capitol in Cheyenne, First Lady Carol Mead was joined by Gov. Matt Mead, university and UW Foundation officials to announce the success of a fundraising campaign for the Literacy Research Center and Clinic (LRCC). It will be located in the UW College of Education Annex Building in Laramie, following renovations totaling $3.8 million.
