3 Years Ago: Wayne Static Plays Final Wyoming Show [Video]
Three years ago today, June 1 2014, Wayne Static played one of his final shows ever, and his last one in Wyoming.
The long time Static-X front man passed away November 1, 2014 at just 48. According to his wife Tara, before going to bed Wayne had mixed half an oxycodone pill with alcohol. Static unfortunately had a long history with alcohol and drug-related issues.
Despite that, Wayne created outstanding music for industrial metal fans, and earned the nickname "The King of Evil Disco."
In 2011, Static-X officially broke up and Wayne launched his own solo career. He created a few new songs, but continued to also play songs from the band live.
In June of 2014, Wayne stopped in Cheyenne to play at the Atlas Theater. The band played the entire album Wisconsin Death Trip, a 1999 release that became one of Static-X's most successful.
According to SongKick, Wayne would only play eighteen more shows before passing away.
Thanks to Rueben Sandoval's YouTube page, we have the live version of "Love Dump" from the Atlas.
