Marian Orr's future is up in the air...literally. Orr made history again yesterday, becoming the first Cheyenne Mayor to arrive at the annual USAF Thunderbirds Air Show on a parachute.

"What a thrill," Orr said on Facebook. "It was the first time I've ever done it and after today's experience, I will happily sign-up for more."

Orr and her skydiving instructor jumped out of an airplane at an estimated 13,000 feet above the ground, free-falling for nearly a minute before her tandem instructor pulled their parachute at 5,000 feet and then glided in for a smooth landing on the grounds of the Air Show.

The skydive kicked off a busy Cheyenne Day for the Mayor. The Thunderbirds drew an estimated crowd of 5,000 at F.E. Warren Air Force Base. From there, Orr bounced over to the Pancake Breakfast in the Depot, where she and the Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce "flipped the switch" on the City's new public broadband project. Later in the day, the City hosted a free concert in the Depot Plaza, while the PRCA Rodeo and country music star Miranda Lambert drew large crowds at Frontier Park.
