Cheyenne Shop Makes Valentine’s Candy

There are two really busy times of year when you’re a candy maker. Easter and Valentine’s Day. In anticipation of this lovers holiday, we caught Ed DeGabain making hard candy at De’s Candy Shop in Cheyenne.

Ed was working with 20lbs of hot sweet stuff that comes out at 300° before it’s worked into individual candies.

Family owned, Ed and his wife Helen have been making candy in Cheyenne since 1963. Ed’s parents started the business and Ed and Helen keep the tradition alive.

I know there are some very popular national brands available, but I like the hand made touch and I love supporting local and small business.
