Cheyenne’s Five Biggest ‘Gut Busters’
One of the best things about Thanksgiving is eating yourself into a food coma; devouring plate after plate until you nearly explode.
To properly prepare you for this week's gluttony, here's our completely unofficial list of the five biggest "gutbusters" in and around Cheyenne.
1. The Garcia Special at R+B Breakfast Club - If you can take down the entire four egg omelet stuffed with ham, bacon, sausage, peppers, onions, tomatoes, mushrooms and smothered with hash browns and green chile, you are superhuman and should seriously consider a career as a professional eater. Conquering the 1/2 Garcia is even a bold feat.
2. The Pokey Sandwich at Steamboat's Steak and Smokehouse - This sandwich gives new meaning to the term "heart attack on a bun". It's pulled pork topped with mac and cheese between two slices of sourdough, then it's dipped in batter and deep fried.
3. The Porterhouse T-Bone at T-Joe's Steakhouse - There's a lot of great places to get a steak in Cheyenne, but this is the biggest slab of meat you'll find anywhere. Weighing in at 32 ounces, it's a meal all by itself. Add a baked potato and two sides and you're gonna need a doggy bag.
4. The Little Bear Burger at the Little Bear Inn - We're not talking some wimpy 1/4 pound burger here. The Little Bear Burger is a full pound of beef. Pile on the cheddar cheese and a heaping mound of onion straws and you'll be lucky if you can still walk out the door after finishing it.
5. The Ba Ba Platter at Twin Dragon - You probably wouldn't expect to find a "gutbuster" at a Chinese restaurant unless you were paying several visits to the buffet. However, this Twin Dragon appetizer is loaded with a little bit of everything: eggrolls, fried wontons, shrimp, bbq spare ribs, teriyaki steak skewers and deep fried chicken strips. A don't forget the fortune cookie.
