Denver International Airport Ranks Among the Worst For Holiday Travelers
If you live in Wyoming and you like to travel, it's an unfortunate fact of life. Sooner or later, you will end up getting stuck at Denver International Airport.
Whether you drive there or catch a connecting flight from Casper, Cheyenne or Laramie, DIA is a hassle...especially during the holidays.
A new Nerd Wallet study, based on Bureau of Transportation Statistics from 2013 to 2015, ranks Denver International as the seventh worst airport for holiday travelers in the country.
DIA also ranks second among domestic airports with the most delays. Nearly 17% of all flights at DIA take off over 30 minutes after the scheduled departure time. Nearly 8% of DIA flights will eventually be delayed over an hour and nearly 1.5% of flights from Denver will be canceled altogether.
And those statistics don't even factor the security lines at DIA, which are among the longest in the country or the outrageous cost of parking.
Just hope you have a layover in Dallas. According to the Nerd Wallet study, Dallas-Fort Worth International Aiport is the worst in the country, followed by San Francisco, Newark, Chicago O-Hare and Laguardia in New York City.
