Nothing grinds my gears more than being kept up past my bedtime, especially when it is illegal!

Call me a party pooper. Call me an old woman. Call me whatever you want, but I do not like being kept from my beauty rest. I love to sleep and I find it extremely rude when people continue to be loud after hours. I can literally feel my blood boiling when there is a loud bass in the apartment next door, a group screaming children at the pool (obviously up way past their bedtime) or, in the case of last night, the pop of fireworks.

Especially since there is a ban against fireworks in our area.

And apparently there were a lot of people breaking the law. As a result, many residents were dialing up the police with clenched fists. According to KGWN, Laramie County dispatchers were up to their eyeballs in phone calls regarding fireworks between the hours of 8 p.m. on Tuesday and 3 a.m. on Wednesday. In fact, the Laramie County Communications Center received 147 complaint calls from citizens.

The most calls came in between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. when 39 calls were received.

Aside from getting under my skin, think about those who have pets. Fireworks make pets (and babies, for that matter) uneasy. I'm lucky that my pup doesn't seem to be phased by fireworks, but I know several others with pets that cower and shiver in fear. Mama bear definitely comes out when someone messes with our pets.
