Former Child Stars From Wyoming
Wyoming has produced its fair share of successful actors and actresses over the years, including a few former child stars.
Joyce Coad was one of three triplets born in Laramie in 1917. Tragically, both of her parents died when she was just a baby and the children were orphaned.
At fate would have it, she was adopted by a couple in Los Angeles, who entered her in a contest sponsored by a local newspaper.
Talent scouts from the Metro Goldwyn Mayer studio saw her photo and cast her to play the leading role in the movie "Hearts In Dixie".
She went on to appear in dozens of films, including the original "Scarlet Letter," before she retired from the industry at the age of 20. She died in 1987 at the age of 70.
Jessica Player was born in Cheyenne in 1982. At the age of 5, she was cast alongside Linda Evans and John Forsythe in the ABC series Dynasty.
After four seasons on the hit drama, she joined the short-lived NBC drama A Family For Joe and appeared in several made-for-television movies.
She reprised her role as Krystina Carrington in the 1991 Dynasty Reunion mini-series.
Although he wasn't born in Wyoming, current Cheyenne and former Jackson resident Michael Pearlman was also a child star, best known for his roles on Charles in Charge and Kate & Alley.
